The Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Framingham, houses females sentenced to imprisonment, awaiting trial, or committed by the courts for alcohol or substance abuse treatment (MGLA c 125, s 16; c 123, s 35). Under the supervision of the superintendent, the deputy superintendent for operations is responsible for ensuring prison security. Inmate daily movement forms are created to track inmates (including nonsentenced women in the awaiting trial unit) both within and outside the institution on a daily basis so that their whereabouts are known at all times.
